Sonic, which evolved from the Fantom memory blockchain, is preparing for a public release. After its developer Sonic Labs announced that "Genesis has been completed (referring to the first memory block on the blockchain to complete a transaction), memory block 0, infrastructure is being deployed, and will soon be made public," Fantom's native token FTM surged nearly 30%.

Due to the 1:1 conversion of FTM token to S after Sonic's official launch, many traders have taken the lead in layout. The token has risen over 80% in the past two weeks, reaching its highest level since April 2022, and its fully diluted valuation (FDV) has exceeded $4 billion for the first time in over two years. Andre Cronje, founder of DeFi protocols Yearn and Fantom, stated on social platform X, "This is just the beginning. The cross chain bridge and infrastructure will be launched in the coming days, and then the real excitement will begin. I will launch my decentralized application (dApp) in stages: introducing ICO (initial coin offering), fair issuance, and retrospective airdrops, showcasing Sonic's true capabilities

Arthur Hayes, founder of the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX, recently proposed the idea of reviving the ICO model in a new article, mentioning Andre Cronje. Cronje is very pleased with this and has stated his intention to conduct an ICO for all of his dapps on Sonic.

Cronje wrote:

There is a problem of 'nothing at stake' in today's fair issuance, but combining fair issuance, retrospective airdrops, and ICOs (which are actually very cheap and feasible options), I believe it can bring things back into harmony

Developers are also preparing for the public release of Sonic. Daniele Sestagalli, founder of Abracadabra and Wonderland, has proposed deploying the Wagmi protocol on Sonic and has previewed attempts at AI agents on Sonic.
